Financial Policies and Insurance
Dr. Johnson wants you to receive the best care possible. Every effort will be made to provide a treatment plan that fits your timetable and budget. Payment for dental services is due at the time dental treatment is provided. We accept cash, personal checks, debit cards and most major credit cards.
Please provide our office with your dental insurance information prior to your first dental visit. If we have received all of your insurance information, we will be happy to file your claim for you. You must be familiar with your insurance benefits, as you will be responsible for the amount the insurance is not expected to pay. We file dental insurance as a courtesy to our patients. We do not have a contract with your insurance company, only you do. We are not responsible for what benefits your insurance pays on a dental claim. We can only assist you in estimating your portion of the cost of treatment. We cannot guarantee what your insurance will pay on each claim. Our office does not determine benefits. Insurance companies set their own allowable fees they will pay for each dental procedure. Frequently the insurance company sets these “allowable” fees so they can make a significant profit. Unfortunately, insurance companies have sometimes implied that one’s dentist is "overcharging" rather than stating that they themselves are "underpaying" or that their benefits are low.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, please keep us informed of any insurance changes, such as policy name, insurance company, address, or a change of employment.
